HPSC PGT Computer Science Exam Pattern 2026
The Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) has clearly defined the exam scheme for PGT Computer Science 2026. The selection process includes three stages – Screening Test, Subject Knowledge Test, and Interview/Viva-Voce.
It is very important to understand the marking scheme, qualifying marks, and weightage before starting preparation, because final merit is prepared only on specific stages.
1. Screening Test
The Screening Test is conducted only for shortlisting candidates for the Subject Knowledge Test. Marks obtained in this stage will not be counted in the final merit list.

Important Instructions–
- Each question will have five options (A, B, C, D, E).
- If attempting a question, candidates must darken A/B/C/D.
- If not attempting, they must darken option E.
- If none of the five circles is darkened, 0.25 marks will be deducted.
- If a candidate does not darken any circle in more than 10% of questions, he/she will be disqualified.
- Four times the number of advertised posts will be called for the next stage, provided they secure minimum 25% marks.
2. Subject Knowledge Test
This is the most important stage because it carries 87.5% weightage in the final selection. Performance in this test directly affects your final merit position.
